Performing Arts Camp

Welcome to our ninth annual summer Performing Arts Camp at Stony Brook Community Church! PAC is a Musical Theatre Workshop for ages 7 to 16 that includes acting, voice, dance, improvisation and rehearsals for open house performances of a musical commedy production on the last days.  

PAC is open to 20 children from age 7 to 16 regardless of their level of experience.  Our small size makes it possible for our staff of theatre professionals to give each child a quality learning experience (but also means we fill up quickly).  The atmosphere is noncompetitive: the goal is to raise each child’s personal performance skills level while all are having fun learning to excel as a group, so we are able to accommodate the very talented as well as special needs children. Our students work on challenging material, sometimes learning multiple roles for a production.

The 2016 session will last four weeks from June 27 to July 23,  Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with final performances on the 22nd and 23rd. Enrollment is limited to 20.  The cast pool party will be either Saturday or Sunday afternoon, depending on the weather.

Morning classes are held in our air conditioned Fellowship Hall and afternoons we’re in the gym in our Education Building.  Our park-like playground allows for outdoor recreation at lunch break, weather permitting, and our facility is wheelchair accessible.                                                    

The cost in 2015 was $600 for registrations received (and deposits paid) prior to April 30 and $650 thereafter.  We offer a 10% discount for siblings. 2016 tuition will be announced shortly.

A limited number of scholarships based on need will be provided. If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, a letter of request must accompany the camp application. The deadline for submission of a scholarship request is April 30. The requests will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
