Staff


Alyssa Coia, Director and Choreographer, received her associates degree in acting from Suffolk County Community College. She is transferring to Hunter College in the fall to pursue her BA degree in acting and a minor in dance. Some past credits include: Assistant Director for The Shrew, Assistant Movement Director for The House of Bernarda Alba, Choreographer for Productions of Gypsy and Cabaret Night. Alyssa teaches a Hip-Hop Dance class at Dynamite Dance Academy and a musical theatre class at Smithtown Center of the Performing Arts. Professional on stage credits include Mistress Quickly in Long Island Shakespeare Festival’s production of King Henry IV Part One. Alyssa would like to thank the Stony Brook Community Church for this wonderful camp and all of the parents and students involved.

 

Valerie Grehan, Musical Director, performs, directs, and inspires all around her with her love for musical theater.  In 2004 and 2006 she toured internationally, performing as a soloist in Ireland, Wales, Spain, and France. She has been Music Director and conductor of the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island. She is currently the choir director at Stony Brook Community Church. Some of her favorite roles are Sonia in Godspell, Frenchie in Grease, and Mrs. Harcourt in Anything Goes (all at the Take One Theater) as well as Pitty Sing in The Mikado and Mad Margaret in Ruddigore with the G&SLOC.
